Cochrane Home
Detroit, Michigan
Some projects change what you think is possible. houm.'s first built prototype transforms a narrow 30-foot infill lot in Detroit's North Corktown into a light-filled, 1,600 sf home with an attached ADU, delivered in 8 months, 40% below regional cost, and projected to use 83% less energy than comparable homes.
Royal Home
Fort Wayne, Indiana
Not every project needs to be a flagship to make a point. The Royal Home, houm.'s most economical project to date, delivers 1,800 sf and four bedrooms at $194/sf in just 4 months, showing that great design and real affordability are achievable at any scale.
MiSide Low-Income Residential Development
Detroit, Michigan
Good design should be available to everyone. Currently under development, with the first home expected to break ground within the year, MiSide will bring four residences to South Detroit at $185/sf, 47% below the regional average, demonstrating how houm.'s process can expand access to quality affordable housing at the development scale.
Barnet Residence
Barnet, Vermont | Expected Completion: 2026
One step further from the grid, in every sense. Nestled in the wilds of Vermont, this 1,700 sf, three-bedroom retreat is fully self-sustaining, powered by photovoltaics, passive heating and cooling, and rainwater collection. Designed for a large family to gather, connect, and live lightly on the land.
Liminal Home
Detroit, Michigan | Expected Completion: 2026
houm. at its most refined. The Liminal Home brings bespoke detailing, custom cabinetry, sustainably-harvested hardwoods, and a rooftop terrace to a 3,000 sf, four-bedroom Detroit residence, all built to rigorous environmental standards. Proof that houm.'s process can deliver well-appointed homes without compromising its principles.
Ypsilanti Eco-Village
Ypsilanti, Michigan | Expected Completion: 2028
Forty-plus units perched on a bluff above the river, designed to meet the demands of large-scale development while working in harmony with the land rather than against it. This Eco-Village repairs a damaged site, fosters a native forest, and creates a community where neighbors gather and nature thrives.
